Dr. William H. Likosky
2005 Codman Award Winner
Minor & James Medical Neurologist and Stroke Program Medical Director William H. Likosky, M.D. was recently honored when Swedish Medical Center received the first-ever Ernest Amory Codman Award for disease-specific care. The recognition is a tribute to Dr. Likosky’s leadership in development of the Swedish Stroke Team. His vision resulted in an innovative approach to health care and more lives saved. The Stroke Team concept is now being shared with hospitals across the nation as a model to improve patient care.
“It’s a real honor to receive this award and a testament to the expertise, dedication to advancement, and hard work of everyone associated with the care of stroke patients at Swedish,” said Dr. Likosky. “This recognition is a huge accomplishment and a springboard for the Seattle Neuroscience Institute’s goal of national recognition for world-class care. We are among the elite programs in the country to have received this recognition, and we couldn’t be more proud.”
